Public Housing
Apartments are owned and operated by the Housing Authority. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administers funding to the Housing Authority that manage the housing for low-income residents at rents they can afford.
Public housing is limited to low-income families and individuals. The Housing Authority determines your eligibility based on 1) annual gross income; 2) whether you qualify as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family; and 3) U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.
Eligible individuals and families may apply online at https://www.waitlistcheck.com/UT840 or in person at Carbon - Emery Housing Authority, 251 S 1600 E #2647 Price, Utah. Applicants must complete an application and submit photo ID, Social Security Card & Birth Certificate for everyone in the household. All adults in the household must sign the application and associated forms. The Waitlist is 1 year out.
The Housing Authority has zero tolerance for drug-related or criminal activity. Any such activity occurring where rental assistance is provided will result in termination of assistance.
Eligible applicants are placed on a waiting list. When an applicant's name reaches the top of the list, we request the applicant to update household information and verify income for everyone in the household. After an applicant updates information and the apartment becomes available, we ask them to attend an orientation. In the orientation, we explain program procedures, rules, etc. Before receiving keys, the tenant must attend orientation, pay a security deposit & provide account numbers for necessary utilities set up in their name.
